ACE - WELL ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

Hey Y'all, Homer J. here again. Mom & dad and Max & Shiloh just got back from a week + at Walt Disney World with our cuzin Caitlin. Max sez that they all had a great time although it was a lot hotter and more humid than here at home. Shiloh got a good grooming while she was away and she looks "fabulous, simply fabulous." (Did I say it right Shi?) When we opened our e-mail after dad got home (he doesn't let us use it while he's away ever since JEB bark barfed all over it last month) we had an update from Ms. Beverly on our ailing buddy Ace. It is really great news that has come about simply because we all cared enough to send the very best ($5, $10. $50 etc) to help get Ace the treatment that he needed to keep from dying. Thanks to all of us, mom & dad and youse peoples out there in blogland, it now looks like Ace'll make it. He still has a way to go, but with his strong heart and our continued assistance he should be his old self soon'uff. Plez keep him in your thoughts and prayers and remember that he still needs whatever $$$ help we can scrap up from skipping our own treats every now and then. Here is what Ms. Bev wrote us:

"Check this out.....he can now sit up! He still cannot walk because his back legs are still pretty useless. When they put him in the wheel chair, he can now actually walk a few steps with his front legs.
Doesn't he look great. I just had to send this out to everyone so you could see for yourself what your donations have done for him.
It has given him the medical treatment that he needed to be able to get to this point. Oh, he still has a long way to go but he's a hard worker and I'm sure he'll be up on all fours real soon.
As you can see from the picture, he is in the water treadmill and it's starting to fill up with water.
He may be going home next week. I'm sure we'll know more in a few days.\
I'm so excited for him.......
Thanks everyone
Bev.

ACE SITTING UP ON HIS OWN

Could you sentence Ace to the green needle?

Thanks for the update Ms. Beverly. Plez keep us posted on Ace's continuing recovery. One of us will be posting more about the Max & Shiloh adventure in Orlando later in the week after we sort out truth from fiction in the Max diaries. Catch y'all later. Be cool.

ATTENTION GOLDEN RETRIEVER LOVERS

Someone pleez make room in their heart and home for Taffy. Taffy is about 12-13 yrs old and has the most adorable and expressive eyes. Her owners moved and she didn't adjust well to their new living conditions (no fence) so she is looking for a new home. Taffy is a little old and set in her ways (just like people) and she doesn't always like other dogs bothering her, so a home without other pets, or someone with the time and patience to acclimate her to existing pets properly is required. Taffy is a beautiful lady as you can see from her photo. She is looking for a quiet, loving 4ever home in which to enjoy her remaining "golden" years. You can check out Taffy, and other adoptable dogs looking for 4ever homes, at the Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary website; just tell Miss Carol that the Bumpass Hounds sent y'all.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
