WE GAVE IT OUR BEST BUT WE LOST. WE LOST. WE LOST.

THE PAW-LYMPICS WRESTLING EVENT
13TH RUNNERS UP
ARE
ABBY & MAX
(WITH CHANCE AND JUBAL CHEERING THEM ON)

<----- ABBY & MAX ----->

Bumpass Hounds Abby & Max here to report that we came up outside of the medal winners range (WAY outside, like 10th runner up) in the Paw-Lympics wrestling competition. We gave it our best effort but our quick action and rapid reversals and movements made it difficult for the official photographer to get a really clear photograph of our match. (Did you hear that Dad?) Check us out over at Lenny's blog:
Of course it was a real contest because Abby is the smallest canine Bumpass Hound and Max is the next to largest Bumpass Hound; his sister Shiloh is the biggest and the heaviest (and the dumbest). We congratulate the medal winners, especially Lorenza for his well earned Gold medal. The Paw-Lympics was a lot of fun and we enjoyed competing but weren't as prepared as we should have been. We're starting training now for the certain to follow Winter Paw-Lympics. Bring it on mutts of the world, bring it on. We'll be ready. Shiloh is certain to win the yellow snow eating event. J.E.B. can't be beat in making snow angels. We'll be honing up on all of our winter sport skills. -TBH

Don't feel bad, Bumpass Hounds -- none of our entries won either. But we all had a lot of fun and got to know each other better, right???

Hey guys and gals, thanks for stopping by, we will keep checking back to see your assorted scars. But tell me, is there really a Bumpass VA? We lived in Lexington for a while, anywhere near that tiny town.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
