INVASION OF THE SPACE ALIENS

Boru & Alex

Hello Hounders,
Alex and Boru here with an amazing story of a strange incident that occurred last night here in Bumpass, Virginia, USA. We are the first to report that a space alien, a little green retriever dog like creature, invaded our house. Mom had made a pumpkin pie for the holidays. She and dad were up in the "no dog zone" watching the magic picture box last night. Dad came down and got the pie out of the cold box and put it on the kitchen island. Two of the eight pieces had already been taken out and he took out two more, one for him and mom, and took them up the stairs to eat while they watched the magic box. He didn't put the pie back in the cold box. Just us kitties and Sophie and Jubal were in the house. Since we're having unusually warm December weather, all the other fur monsters were outside in the paddock and pen. Us kitties can jump the baby gate to go up to the "no dog zone" so we were upstairs with mom and dad. Here's where the eye witness account of Jubal takes over the story. A very high frequency humming noise, above the range of human hearing, came through the roof of our house and a then a Star Trek type transporter beam deposited an animal that looked a lot like a Golden Retriever, 'cept it was green, on the kitchen island right next to mom's pumpkin pie. The alien started woofing down the pie so our very brave fur monster brother, Jubal, tried to stop it. Sophie is too heavy to get up on her hind legs so the task of protection was up to Jubal. Jubal and the alien struggled over the pie. About that time dad came back downstairs for more pie. The alien must have heard him coming and it beamed back up to the space ship and the high frequency noise suddenly stopped so the ship must've left to go back to its' home planet. When dad came into the kitchen he saw Jubal protecting the remnants of the pumpkin pie. He took the attached photo for evidence of the invasion. Now that's the honest truth according to Jubal.
Fortunately, the pie evidently doesn't make fur monsters sick, at least no one here got sick, so the alien is probably okay. Dad has learned a valuable lesson about leaving food on the counters where aliens can get it. He told mom that since the world's greatest counter surfer, Shelby Belle, was outside and Sophie can't reach the counter, that he wasn't worried about the pie since Jubal, the world's best behaved dog, was there to guard it. Anyway, dad wants mom to bake another pumpkin pie but mom says not until next Thanksgiving which isn't 'til November. You Hounders better protect your food from little green retrievers.

Wow! Aliens? Green ones? hmmm...I'll have to keep that in mind for my next foray onto the counter.

It's bad enough the evil squirrels are invading, now little green aliens? What is going on here? And what were Max and Shiloh doing? Aren't they meant to be scaring off intruders like this??

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.
