YESTERDAY AND TODAY: SHELBY BELLE

Hey Hounders,

It's just me, Jubal, with today's posting. Keeping with the growing up theme, today we're featuring Shelby Belle, the puppy from Hell. Shel has always been a bit of a mischief maker so she acquired that moniker from our mom and dad. Shelby is perhaps the world's fastest, most efficent, counter top surfer. Precautions are necessary before Shelby comes into the house from the paddock. She doesn't appear to be anywhere near as tall as her reach has proven her to be. Next month will be her 4 year anniversary as a Bumpass Hound.

J.E.B. and Shelby -- Shelby and Jubal

From her very first snowy day in the pack she has fit right in. She wasn't at all reluctant or hesitant to get right in to the mix of whatever was going on. She favored hanging out with her older brothers J.E.B. and Jubal and got right into the winter games with Chance and the other boys.

So what do you think of our Shelby Belle? Quite the lady, isn't she?

Hi Homer J,

I think Shelby is booti-ful. I've got a weakness for booti-ful females... Do you think she might want to go out with me on a date?

Love,
The Other Homer

PS: Spencer is sick. You might want to drop by at his blog to cheer him up? http://blog.stickerdog.com/

She is adorable and I am not showing mum in case she gets any ideas about getting a puppy around here.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
