WILL THIS ENDLESS BEGGING EVER END?

Hey Hounders, It's the bag lady, Shiloh. The title of this post don't make no sense. If it was really "endless" begging then it would never end. But this is our last begging appeal for this Begathon. We don't want to really piss y'all off, it's bad enough that we've had to annoy you since Saturday, but we didn't see any way around it. We hope that you won't hold our begging against us for toooooo long. Of course if you could cough up just a little money for AHGRR we won't have to do this again for a while. We also need y'all to read our previous two begging posts so you'll have the necessary information to shut us up. We hope that we don't lose a lot of you due to our bad behavior. We'll here's the clincher plea, the last hurrah, the final beg. Can you help either of these two fine Golden retrievers currently needing assistance at AHGRR. Here's what Ms carol at AHGRR sent us about them::
Mickey is an older gentleman who was left to wander and die the rural roads in West Virginia. This gentle giant of a golden boy is about the nicest dog we have ever had here - - - - Mickey's needs are not as extraordinary as Bernie's, but he needs to be professionally groomed as his coat is in dred locks and matted tight against his body. I could handle it in the summer, but it is beyond my abilities in this cold weather. He also needs all his tests and vaccinations - and to find that very special home that would love to have an older gentlemen who already knows basic obedience commands, appears to be housebroken, and knows how to shake.

Our second request is for Bernie. Bernie - is probably 7 - 8 years old and was found wandering the rural roads of Shreveport, LA. He was taken to the local shelter where euthanasia was scheduled as soon as his hold time was up. He was considered too old and not worthy of adoption. Bernie is now safely residing at a vet hospital, where he will be vaccinated and heartworm tested. He needs surgery to remove a large tumor on his rear, is exceedingly thin (and we fear heartworm disease), and in overall appalling condition. This sweet old boy is expected to have a very large medical bill - right now, we estimate that it will exceed $750 - and could easily go as high as $1,050. We could not leave him to die in the shelter - he deserves a chance. If you can spare a few dollars to help Bernie, we would deeply appreciate the help.
If you can spare a few extra dollars, we would deeply appreciate it. Donations can be made via paypal donation buttons here on our website over in the right margin (you can use your credit card here, or your checking account), or can be mailed to:

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
