MAGGIE AND MITCH BLOG REVIEW FOR TRAVIS

MITCH AND MAGGIE - LET THE FEAST BEGIN
Heya Hounders, Max and Shiloh here with a special edition posting. We are reviewing Maggie and Mitch's Blog for Travis' Blog. We have done a thorough research job of the Maggie and Mitch site. They are Airedales and as anyone that's been in the Navy knows, Airedale are the people in the aviation part of they Navy. We checked in a book and here's what it says:
Ships Terminology and Slang:
Aft - towards the stern
Ahead - go forward

Airedale - aviation crew
Athwart - astride
Athwartship - across the beam, sideways
Airdale Talk
Abort - stop action / Angels - height in thousands of feet / Bingo - low fuel state / Buster - fly at maximum cruising speed / CAP - Combat Air Patrol (above friendlies) / Deck Foul - unable to land aircraft / Ditch - forced landing in water / Gate - push the throttle past the gate-stop for absolute maximum speed also called "war emergency power" and is limited to a few minutes. / Fade - radar target disappeared / Friendly - from our side / HuffDuff - high frequency direction finding / IFF - identification friend or foe / Liner - fly for maximum distance. (from linear)o'clock - the relative direction. (12 o'clock is dead ahead) / Orbit - circle a given point. / Point Option - expected track of carrier while planes on mission / Plane guard - rescue destroyer / Roger, wilco, over and out - movie actor and airdale form of Wilco, Out. / Rotorhead - helicopter pilot or crewman / Saunter - fly for maximum endurance time. / Scramble - take on quickly / Sortie - flight of one or more aircraft on a mission /Snooper - enemy observation plane / Tally-Ho! - either "enemy sighted" or "am attacking" / Vector - course to steer

Anyway, we digress. Maggie and Mitch live in the home studio of The Food Network with Rachel Ray (guys, be sure to click on Rachel Ray) and we want to swap places with them immediately for their own good. These guys gotta weigh in at a couple of hundred pounds each. They are surrounded by a plethora of edible goodies at all times. They always have something in their mouths; sometimes a toy but usually some scrumciadelicious looking FOOD. The blog includes all the detailed recipes for making the demonstrated goodies but why not just move in at the source. We're on the next flight to Hartford.

So, this is just a "tidbit' sampling of all the culinary delights to be enjoyed over a Mitch and Maggie's blog. You'll find it very satisfying; a real treat. You'll just eat it up. It's something to sink your teeth into. But be prepared, every vice has a tax these days. - Max and Shiloh

Hi Bumpass Hounds -- Long time no bark!!! (That's saying something for us, given our names...)

Maggie and Mitch said yiur review of their blog was hilarious -- so we had to check for ourselves, and indeed it is. Airedale = aviation crew. Who knew???

So we know where to come for more laughs and hilarity.

Hope you're all hale and hearty!!

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
