WE'RE BUDDIES.

Alex and Homer J. here today. We want to go on record as being against the stereotype that cats and dogs can't get along. We have more problems in our pack with dogs getting along with dogs and cats getting along with cats. Shiloh is the only dog that follows the cats and that's just a curiosity issue. Since Alex and Boru stand their ground and face slap the b#tch (she is a female dog) she pretty much just bothers Jenny. Jenny is small enough to hide in places that Shiloh can't even fit her head into. Alex and Boru have daily sessions that dad refers to as "kitty whoopass." So mostly the cats and dogs get along fine. Boru is a wannabe dog anyway, even more so than Leo who lives with Tucker and Daisy. Alex seems to favor Homer as a dog friend. Homer is a quiet guy who seldom, if ever, barks. He tends to find a vacant spot and just blops himself down. So Alex likes to position himself in and around Homer. Alex will go as far as to "mark" Homer by rubbing his head all over him. We have some more pictures of the two of us together posted below. See, cats and dogs can get along without fighting. Now, if only people could just figure it out.

Hi All Y'all...we asked a couple of AZ friends to come and visit you, so we will be watching to see who gets there firstest. One of them is a c.a.t., but she doesn't know it yet. (kinda like Teka!)

Sounds pretty much like around our house.

We were wrong the other day. You are on our list but all the way down the bottom because your updates still aren't coming through your feed. At least for us. Have no idea why. :(

Your pictures are so cute, especially that last one. My mom told me about old Freddie the German Shepherd and how he was good friends with Tater, my human sister's cat. Of course dogs and cats can get along - thanks for the proof.

See ya!

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
