CHICKEN! CHICKEN! CHICKEN!

WE WANT CHICKEN. WE WANT CHICKEN.

WHEN DO WE WANT IT?

WE WANT IT NOW.

Heya Hounders,
It's good ole Alex and Boru blogging at ya today; Jenny's also here (somewhere). We are here to let y'all know about one of the most fantastic con jobs ever pulled off in feline history. Here at the Bumpass Hounds palatial mansion, which really should have a name like "Tara" in GWTW, us kitties have our own space down in the basement utility room. The UR door has a kitty door large enough for us two Maine Coons to get through but too small for even little canine Abby to get through, although she can stick her head in to annoy us. Over behind the furnace/air conditioner are two "puppy" liter boxes and over to the right side, most importantly, is a large dog bowl, full (usually, dad, usually) of Purina Cat Chow (Is that an endor$ement?). So we have the proverbial and prohibited "open bowl." The big guys (dogs) get fed twice a day, a very early breakfast and an early evening dinner. Well, we kitties are always upstairs in the kitchen when the dogs are being fed, morning and evening. A long time ago, during dinner, dad was making Chicken Caesar Salad for him and mom when he fed the dogs. He must've felt sorry for us cats cuz everyone was eating ceptin us, so he gave each one of us cats a small piece of chicken strip. Well, let us tell y'all how GREAT that chicken was and still is. Somehow, with our vocal encouragement, dad started giving us a small piece of chicken every time the dogs were getting fed and then it kinda turned into our own little snack time, separate from actual dog feeding time. Now when dad gets home at night, we two big cats start the chicken serenade, otherwise known as the Chicken Whine Chorus, until we get OUR CHICKEN. Once we get it, we shut up and let everyone enjoy their evening in peace and tranquility - but not until we get OUR CHICKEN. Mom gives dad a lot of heat about ever having started this but it's too late now; what's done is done and can't be undone; that's our motto. Y'all should be envious of us for this con job; be very envious. And Jenny gets a free ride courtesy of Alex and Boru. She gets her chicken in the top tray of the cat tree; what a deal.

Please stop by at Honey's blog and leave her a few words of encouragement, she had a good day yesterday and we wish her many more good days starting with today and tomorrow and the next day. She needs our support and love.

Grrrrreat News. Sky, one of the two Goldens being fostered by Spencer's HM and HD, has been adopted. He'll be living in La La Land / Tinseltown and will be starting his new life with a new name; Murphy. Now that's a nice Italian name. We wish "Murphy" a long and happy life in his new furever home and send out a silver star to HM and HD to add to their well deserved Bravo-Zulu Award. "WELL DONE" HM and HD, good on y'all. Now we need to find a home for Jake.

Well that wraps up today's news. Y'all have a really fun weekend and enjoy each day. We have to go now cuz it's about time to start whining for OUR CHICKEN.

We remember our friend Spencer everyday and smile. We wish our friend Golden Honey to have a good day today; one of peace and pleasantness.

Hey guess what? I just had chicken! I refused to eat my lunch until my mom put some pieces of chicken on it. Yep - got her trained!

See ya!

Yup. I think at your house cats may be outnumbered but dogs are out-strategized.

You all want to come have a talk with Jan? We wouldn't mind having chicken while the dogs eat twice a day!

It's nice Honey had a good day.

Greetings! Thank you for your emails and support. We had a chance this morning to cut a lock of hair, and make a really nice paw print of Honey. We can't believe she won't be with us physically, but her spirit is strong!
Best wishes,
Honey's mom and dad

That looks like some yummy chicken. I recognize it from Costco. My parents go to Costco, but I've never gotten any chicken. I need to fix that.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
