REJOICE ALL FOR ONE

TOMORROW IS EASTER SUNDAY
Heya Hounders, it the whole crew passing along our wishes to y'all for a very joyous and Happy Easter. No matter what your own beliefs may be, this should be a time to be reflective of sacrifice made by one living spirit for the welfare of many other spirits. That's kinda what animal rescue is all about; sacrificing in order to help others. This is a season for rejoicing so let us rejoice with good news.

SASSY IS LEAVING MOGLEY AND BELLA.
Some of you may have read about Sassy over at Mogley's Blog. Sassy has been being fostered by Mogley and Bella. Sassy recently endured an adoption that didn't work out and she was somewhat depressed. Well, let us rejoice; Sassy has evidently found a new home and has packed her bags. here is what she posted on Mogley's Blog:
"The home visit went wonderful. We went to a nice home, it has a nice back yard. The human and I became instant friends. I snuggled up to her and she started petting me, I was ready to spend the night. The rescue has some paper work to do on me and on the new human's home. So we arranged to move over on Saturday. (ed. that's today and hopefully everything goes as expected) That gives them time to buy a bigger bed, more toys and treats. Their older, smaller dog had passed away, and they need to resupply for an active younger dog. Mogley said we will have a going away party for me. I am excited to have a place that I don't have to share humans, it means more attention for me. - Sassy G. Retriever"

Hopefully, this should be a very joyous Easter Sunday for Sassy and we will have a happy Easter because of that. We should all rejoice for Sassy's well being; hopefullyshe has found her new forever home.

Ms. ~K has left a comment on our post "BAND OF BROTHERS": Who is singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow?" ...Wrooo wrooo,Zack, Sassy and Buddy

The artist is the late Hawaiian folk singer Israel Kamakawiwo'le. (this song and version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow has been featured in at least 3 films. In the movie Meet Joe Black for the end credits, in Finding Forrester towards the ending part when Sean Connery has already died, and for the Lucy (Drew Barrymore) Wake Up scene towards the end of Fifty First Dates.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
