THE SATURDAY AFTER WORDLESS WEDNESDAY ON FRIDAY

HELLO, WE'RE RIGHT HERE TOO YOU KNOW!

Hey Hounders,
Let's see, it's Jubal up front to the left, Sophie (like she can finally get up on the bed now that she only weighs 88 lbs), Jack up by the headboard and good old Homer J. We're here to voice a complaint. We feel that we are being ignored. Well, maybe not ignored. we still get fed, get treats, get let in and out all day, etc., etc. ....BUT we don't seem to be getting any special attention like the pup living out in the big detached garage. He gets fed 3 times a day and we only get fed twice. Mom or dad takes him out for a walkie round and round the circular driveway to make him pee and poop. And when he does poop the dad scoops it up right away like it was gold or something and he puts it in a bucket with a lid on top. Dopey dad is even using mom's laundry bleach to clean the garage floor where they setup the cyclone kennel. DUH, DAD! The bleach is for doing the laundry not for washing concrete. Mom will be so mad when she has to bleach the bed sheets after J.E.B. does his snow angels on the bed with muddy legs and paws. Maybe she has some Oxyclean, AS SEEN ON TV, up in the cupboard. Why all this attention to a little red retriever? Why not special attention for us old timers? HELLO, WE"RE STILL HERE TOO YOU KNOW.

A special thanks to Travis, our blog buddy out by the I.O. in WA, AU. Travis gave us this super duper blog award, probably because, unlike some people around our house, he thinks we deserve special super duper attention. Anyway, we want to express our gratitude and we'll pass it along to some of our deserving buddies who might also be getting ignored by the people that they thought loved them but who really like other little cute puppies more than they like them although they say they like them just as much. The award is in a not English language but it says "To the Super Duper Bumpass Hounds, not counting the new puppy, for their strength and stamina in the face of adversity from being ignored by their people and not being spiteful about any of the lack of attention or preferential treatment shown to the fore NOT mentioned little puppy. Your Blog Buddy Travis." That might not be the exact translation but it's obviously pretty darn close. Travis, unlike some people that we thought were closer to us, evidently understand our hierarchy of needs and fulfillments. Thank you Travis.

THIS PICTURE IS NOT REALLY HERE.
IT IS A MIRAGE; AN ILLUSION.
IT'S A FIGMENT OF YOUR IMAGINATION.
IGNORE IT AND, HOPEFULLY, IT WILL GO AWAY.

Poooor neglected hounds! That new guy gets a whole garage all to himself while the four of you have to snuggle together on a people bed! Its dog abuse! ;-) Soon that little guy will have to snuggle with you up there too! We a relatively new visitors and must admit we had not heard much about you guys yet. You are some handsome hounds though!

Aw, I can read between the lines here... all of you hounds and kitties have a GREAT home and not a one of you is neglected! You may not be willing to admit it out loud, but you're all happy that little Radar is getting the attention he needs right now. Clever translation of your award from Travis though! I love your blog - it's by far the best dog/cat blog I've seen (besides my own, of course!) You avoid baby talk or what I call "dog-speak." We dogs are intelligent beings so why do so many come across as idiots?? Hmmm. You also use your blog to encourage helping rescue organizations, shelters, etc. In fact, I think I'm going to give you an award too. Woof, Tank

Just want to say that a friend of ours got us hooked on Mogley G. Retrievers Blog, who in turn got us hooked onto you blog.
We did our part by spreading the word to our friends.
Each day we look forward to reading both Blogs and adventures.
You guys are just great. We have had Goldens for 35 years and fall more in love with the breed every day.

Wait just one second. Do you think your dad has perfected a poop-to-gold converter? I was trying to invent one so I could buy more treats, but I didn't get very far so I had to become a doctor. However, if your dad has it figured out, then maybe he could give me some tips so I can retire!

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
