RESCUE ME.
Heya Hounders,
It's good ole Jubey-Jubes, Jubal. Thought I'd pay homage to three of our rescued Golden Retrievers that came to be Bumpass Hounds via Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary in Delray, WV. This taint all of our rescued dogs but it's a start. Now as y'all look at these picture, try to remember that these dogs were all at or on their way to being homeless and living in a shelter; they had been given up by their human guardians.
Homer J. is our oldest pack member at 9 years old. He came to us directly from AHGRR after having been taken out of a shelter where he had stagnated. Homer was extremely well behaved when he arrived and we had to work on him for month's to lower him to our standard of behavior. He waited to come in until invited! He wouldn't get on the bed or furniture! He didn't beg or use sad eyes or anything! Boy was he a mess. Luckily, we've got rid of all of Homer's bad habits and now he's a normal dog like the rest of us.

Secondly we have have Ms. Sophie who dad was set to transport up to AHGRR when we all decided that we should foster her here rather than send her up to AHGRR. Then we decided that we'd induct her into the pack as a permanent member and just dump the "foster" facade; who were we kidding anyway?

Last, but not least, is our latest rescued pup, radar, the blind golden Retriever Puppy. Radar was born blind and with no tail. he also developed the Parvo Virus but was diagnosed early, treated for cure and quarantined for 4 weeks. He is growing up and seems perfectly healthy and he's getting along well even with his disabilities.

And that's about it for today. Y'all have a great weekend. I had an adventure today. Maybe dad will let me tell y'all about it real soon.

THE BUMPASS HOUNDS AND KITTIES
Welcome to our blog.
In memory of our bestest blog buddy Spencer who has taken the journey to The Rainbow Bridge; and to our good friend Golden Honey who has gone to join him. They are both much loved dogs and are terribly missed by those of us who knew them. Please, don't forget to remember them both today and smile.
Scroll down a bit for the daily blog postings down under our featured articles. Spend some time browsing around; have some fun. We've got lots of interesting things to check out (we think).
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES? If you encounter a problem with our blog page we'd like you to email us about it if you have the time at bumpasshounds@hughes.net
APOLOGIES: Dad says to offer an apology to everyone of our readers because we are so far behind in reading y'all's blogs and leaving comments on your sites and reading our emails but we're working on it. The dang puppy takes a lot of mom and dad's time .

MR. WHITE ONLY ASKS FOR A FEW YEARS OF CARE WITH SOMEONE WITH WHICH TO LIVE OUT HIS REMAINING YEARS
SPONSORS NEEDED DESPERATELY. CAN YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW HELP? Mr. White is another senior homeless boy at Almost Heaven Golden Retiever Rescue and Sanctuary who is also looking for his furever home. 11 year old Mr. White became homeless when his owner passed away and no one else was in a position to offer this kindly old gent a home. Mr. White is a sweetheart of a dog - - - - - - - he loves everything and everyone - and all he asks is a home where he can retire and be loved for the rest of his life. Mr. White is at least partially deaf, so a fenced yard or someone who leash walks (all the time) is a must for him. If you would like to offer Mr. White a home, please submit an application which you can download from our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org) Please mail or email it back as we no longer have a dedicated fax line. Mr. White is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

THREE RESCUED RETRIEVERS
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO SIGN THE BUMPASS HOUNDS GUEST BOOK
SUCCESS. WE DID IT! We were trying to get at least one guest book entry from each of the 50 United States and D.C. and one from as many different countries as we can. We're were just about there but got hung up on 49 with just one state missing, SOUTH DAKOTA. We'd even solicited anyone from SODAK to help us out. Good news: as of Sept 30, 2009 we have an entry from all 50 states. A really big thanks to Lynette Raesly in Howard, South Dakota for signing our book. We want y'all to please sign our guest book if you haven't already done so. Thank you to every one for stopping by. - TBH&K

ATTENTION GOLDEN RETRIEVER LOVERS
Can someone please make room in their heart and home for Stormy? Stormy needs to find a forever home. Stormy was purchased as breeding stock, but he has a congenital heart defect that is genetic and so he could not be used. His heart condition does not require any special care or medication at this time, but will need to be monitored throughout his life. Stormy is very active - he would be a great dog for folks who like to walk, hike, or throw a ball. He's a handsome boy and he's waiting now to go home with some lucky person. You can check him out, and other adoptable dogs looking for 4ever homes, at the Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary website:

Remember, Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary is a registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization and operates solely on donations from kind hearted souls such as youself. All donations are 100% tax deductible so ya can give it to AHGRR sted of giving it to Uncle Sam. Any little bit will help. Please make a donation at:
http://www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org/ And if'n ya can't be given money in these hard times then hows 'bout at least a little thought or prayer for this little guy to make it through this manure impediment. We'd all precite it. Thank'n ya kindly for tak'n the time to read about Stormy.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.

5 Howls & Meows Back:
I love to read about adventures!
Please DO tell!

Hi Jubal - I'm not sure which one of you was trying to give Radar away, but I wasn't fooled. You've got a couple of real softies there taking in one pup after another... not to mention the darn cats. You have a great weekend too!
It's so easy to tell that each of these dogs is well l♥ved and happy, although I'd take one in a heartbeat if you decided you didn't love them anymore☺ Their happy smiles are adorable.
Our Chief gets very said when she reads about Dogs given up by their guardians. She couldn't give us all up ... not if she can helps it!
We hope they all find good loving homes soon.
Licks and wags
Tuffy and the Dog WOods Pack
We're all rescues. I'm our oldest at 13-ish. Then Dave at 11, Ammy at 10 and Zim is the puppy at 9. Dave was 4 when he got here. Except for being a counter-surfer, he came with the annoying habits of retrieving, coming when he's called, and walking nicely on a leash. I've broken him of coming when he's called, but not the others. Still working on him. He's such a lug.
Tail wags,
Storms
