CRUEL & UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT

LOOK WHAT HE DID TO US!
Hey Hounders,
As you know, we've been really behind on everything. Dad had a big work project going on in December that needed to be done by the end of the year. Mom and dad went to Florida and left us with a sitter. A big storm snowed us in with about 2 feet of snow and made mom and dad come back early. An hour after they got home dad left to go get Radar from Sissy Sarah's house and after he left mom fell down the stairs and broke her ankle and foot. Dad had to turn around and come home and him and mom spent the entire evening at the hospital emergency room. The next day dad had to take mom to an awfulpedic doctor for more xrays and a walking boot. We were still snowed in with only the Rescue Wagon Bronco able to get through the driveway snow. Our Christmas shopping wasn't done, cards hadn't been mailed, we were in bad shape. We were all together for Christmas and that's all that mattered. Well, fun time is over. Today dad said that since we didn't get any photos of the snow or Christmas because of all the commotion he thought we should try to get some of us TBH&Ks before he takes down the tree tomorrow. So this morning he humiliated each of us, one at a time, by making us "pose" by the Christmas Tree with a red Santa scarf and a Christmas Mickey Mouse Ears Hat that mom got at Walt Disney World. Ben and the fellas thought that they had been embarrassed by what their peeps did to them, but that was nothing. We were robbed of our dignity. What self respecting Golden Retriever would be caught dead in this get up. Well, that's a might strong but you get the idea. Not one of us was cooperative. We all had to be bribed with cookies, which is why some of us are licking our lips. Here's a sample of what went on:

Doesn't J.E.B. look ecstatic about his appearance?

Homer J. looks thrilled to be participating.

No big deal for Boru; that's his regular hide-out under the tree.

Alex also likes hanging out under the tree; something unique to cats we suspect.

Abby must've still had bribe cookie stuck in her mouth.

So, what do you thing about this situation. What would be an appropriate pay-back. And there's more evidence that we'll show y'all tomorrow. We can't believe that our dad would do this to us. Oh the humanity. We'll never be able to show our faces in PetSmart again.

I know the name of a good lawyer. I bet you can get half the cookies AND at least one of the cats if you want! :)

Hey THB,

Here's an idea for you. Why don't you dress your Dad in those funny stuff, take some pictures and post them online?

Love,
Homer

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
