IT'S A FROSTY FRIDAY

Hey Hounders,
It snowed here last night, and like most of the rest of the eastern U.S. it was a bit on the chilly side. Dad let us come back in after going out to do our morning business. The snow is insignificant and probably will be all gone by this afternoon. Dad has to take mom to the awfulpetic sirgeon today to get followup xrays of her ankle and foot to see how the breaks are healing. Mom is relatively mobile in her big walking boot. She yells at us a lot to get outta her way and not to trip her, like we'd ever do that. Don't quite see why she can't just step over us or go around us; who's fault is this situation anyway? We didn't fall down the stairs, she did.

LICKIN' GOOD!
Homer J. is of the opinion that his incision sutures were developed either at RHOB or KFC because he thinks that they taste "lickin' good." Dad first tried to reason with Homer J. to leave his stitches alone but that didn't seem to work. So just like when Homer had his mass cell tumor removed a few years ago, dad reverted to the T-shirt and sock solution. If this doesn't work, Homer J. will be sentenced to wear the "cone of shame" just like the golden retriever Doug in the movie "UP." So far the apparel solution seems to be working.

It can't be very easy getting around in the snow and cold with that boot on, here's hoping Mom gets a good report from the doctor. We love that panda bear, but the one in your post is pretty darn cute too.

Happy Friday, Phantom and Thunder

I vote for the Panda Bear in your post. I could see havin' him hang around the kitchen a lot easier than the other one! Does Homer J need T.Shirts?

Poor Mama! Hope your foot is found to be healing up well - and also hope that Homer will quit his "lickin' good" stitches and respond well (by non-response!) to the t-shirt! The CNN panda report was wonderful - how furry cuuuute! Thanks for sharing and the little pup is awfully cuuute too!
Hugs xo

Oh no, a shirt! That's horrible. When we had to wear shirts for Halloween, I thought I as going to die!

Maybe if you feed him treats all day, he won't think about his stitches.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
