SYNCHRONIZED SNOOZING

THE CAT-O-LYMPICS CONTINUE
Our furiend Fin thought it would be great if us kitties had our own Cat-O-Lympics in honor of the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada! Fin is holding the Opening Ceremonies at "http://housecatconfidential.blogspot.com/2010/02/opening-ceremonies-cat-o-lympics.html" Click HERE to join in those festivities!!! The Island cats are hosting the Synchronized Snoozing Competition at their BLOG

Welcome to to the “Synchronized Snoozing” Competition!!

Here’s how to enter their competition:

You must have a blog in order to compete. This competition can be entered by a single-cat or a two-cat team or a larger cat team if you can get more than two of you to synchronize snooze at the same time. We hafta say, if you get more than two of you to synchronize snooze at the same time, you’ll get extra points!! If you’re a single cat competing, you’ll hafta use your creativity to come up with something to show your synchronization (maybe use a stuffed animal or your beans or something??). Oh yeah…woofies can compete too!!

Sometime this week, post a picture on your blog showing your best effort at snoozing together in unison. (See?? Like the Island Cats above!!) Leave the Island Cats a comment when you post your picture so the judges (that’s them!) can visit and view your entry. Competitors will be judged on synchronization technique and originality and however the judges feel (heehee)!! The Gold Medal will be awarded by the Island Cats on Monday, February 22. As the Island Cats say: Good luck!! And may the best snoozing team win!!

Wrangler at AHGRR sez: Things don't change or get updated on weekends so as of 2/19Th/2010 we are back up to #62 in the Shelter Challenge voting nationally, we had slipped to #64. However, we are still #2 in West Virginia (16.20% of WV votes). The Ritchie County Humane Society is #1 in WV (27.31% of WV votes) and #24 nationally; they have widened the gap to 40 places higher than us and are still widening their lead. Please help us get back on top by voting today.

Please see the top of our blog page for instructions.

Yep, our Percy could be a pro napper if he put his mind to it. We're glad you're entering the competition. The more the merrier. And you sure have more members than we do. :-)

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
