ALMOST THERE - HELP!

DAD'S A GOLFER; WE'RE HIS CADDY
Hey Hounders,
Little Gracie and Big Al here.  We'd like to thank who ever it is that made the last $25.00 contribution to the AHGRRS air conditioner fund drive.  We now are at 93% of our $400.00 goal.  At the $350.00 mark dad said that he'd match any remaining contribution in order to make the $400.00 goal so we're there.  Dad says for us to please relay that if we can make the additional $25.00 in contributions that he would be happier since he's already made 2 contributions so far.  We don't really care cuz the $400.00 will be going to AHGRRS.  So we won't twist your arms for  more money but dad says he'd appreciate it if 25 of youse guys would each donate just ONE DOLLAR more.  So dad's a golfer and we're his caddy.  he wants a club and we're giving him the shaft.  But we would like to see the Chip-In logo go to 100% so maybe it would be nice to get the last $25.00 in contributions from y'all out there in blog land.  Tell ya what; if we make the $400.00 we'll put the donation in to AHGRRS as a tribute to the two guys that left us this weekend, Maquire and Max Dog.  A gift in memory of two GReat Goldens to benefit many more Goldens.  We've got 5 more days until the end of the month so we only need to raise $5.00 per day.  Just like the mice in Cinderella sang; "We can do it, we can do it, we can really, really do it.."
We don't want to jinx the All-Star Shelter voting because there's 3 more months of voting to go, but we've done very well so far.  We're the top WV shelter and if we hold that position AHGRRS will be awarded $1,000.00 to help their rescue efforts.  So it's important that you all keep voting everyday from every computer that you can.  The Animal Rescue Site will even send you a daily reminder if you'd like them to.

JENNY'S HOUSEHOLD TIPS
(Absolutely Brilliant Household Tip)
Always save several old signed
'Get well' cards and keep them on the mantel or coffee table.  Then if unexpected guests arrive, they will think you've been sick and were unable to clean the house.

STAND-UP BORU

A fifty-ish woman (NOT our mom) was at home happily jumping on her bed and squealing with delight.

Her husband (NOT our dad) watches her for a while and asks, "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look? What's the matter with you?"

The woman continues to bounce on the bed and says, "I don't care, I just I came from having a mammogram and the doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year-old".

The husband said, "What did he say about your 56 year old arse?"

"Your name never came up." she replied.

(Men... they just never know when to shut up, do they??)

Thank you to everyone that donated to the cause.
Their are so many wonderful people out there that will donate to help those in need.
We are kind of like the "Silent Pawnority"
Also a big thank you to the BumpassHounds & Kitties who originated this idea and got the ball rolling.

We hope you'll reach your goal. Mom would love to donate except on Sunday night our submersible well water pump took a crap on us. We had water but for about 8-10 minutes then the pressure would die. The plumber is sending the bill and she's gonna be scared to open it!

A former COMMATVAQWINGPAC Prowler Flight Surgeon ('83-'89) made the final $25 contribution. :)

Happily retired now in Pensacola.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
