SATURDAY MORNING

TANK?  FRED?  IS THAT YOU?

BREAKFAST ANYONE?

Hey Hounders,
We got another update from Ms. Carol up at AHGRRS and thought we'd pass it on to y'all.

So here it is:

Hi:
I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful weather.  I cannot tell you how happy I am to finally see the sun and feel some natural heat!  (I'm definitely not a winter person - - - - - lol).
Skip and I managed to get through both my eye surgeries with no down time - - - - - something I'm very grateful for.  But, Skip has developed a huge inguinal hernia that needs to be surgically repaired - asap.  He has an appointment with the surgeon on the 18th.  (It's hell getting old, folks - )
In any event - his recuperation time will mean that I will be caring for all the dogs - alone - for a week - maybe more - which is a huge task.
Adoptions are slow this time of year and I'm no spring chicken (something the mirror keeps telling me) so unless we find foster homes, we will need to temporarily turn dogs away that need us.   In order to be able to adequately care for the dogs and not close down intakes, we are asking everyone and anyone who can foster a dog - to please step forward.  We are not asking for a huge commitment of time - - - - a couple to three weeks will get us through.
We have a couple of really nice Senior girls (Crystal and Bertie) who would demand little time, but who would be so grateful to be in a real home setting - even for a little while.  Any foster home help would be appreciated.  Please contact me if you are interested.
Good News!  I think we have found a new webmaster.  It is going to take some time to get our website redesigned - and under control.  I am hopeful that by the time Skip is up and running again - our website will be, too.
New Dogs -
Winnie - 5 years old - given up by her very caring owners due to problems outside of their control.  She's a real sweetheart.  Let's find her a new home soon.
 Winnie
Thank you to everyone for all your support - - - - - we couldn't do this without you.
Patti and Jubal say, please do not assume that the website effort is a done deal yet.  If you can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to contact Ms. Carol.  It always pays to have a backup plan and/or a relief pitcher warming up in the bull pen (that's baseball talk).
Dad got home last night and boy were we glad to see him, except for Radar (pardon us, but that's a little blind dog humor there folks).  Homer J. says mom had to go up to
Fredericksbuirg this morning and dad had some work at home stuff to do to clear up after his business trip.  When mom got back at about noon her and dad took Sophie and Abby in the car and towed the trailer over to get the John Deere lawn tractor out of repair.  Then they all went to Mickey D's and Soph and Ab each got a McDouble with
cheese while mom and dad just had Mocha Frappe's.  Gracie says that after they brought the lawn tractor home, they went to a lumber place to get some landscaping timbers and Sophie and Abby got to go along again.  Looks like the front yard flower beds might get put in over the next few weekends.

STAND-UP BORU
Three old guys are out walking.
First one says, 'Windy, isn't it?'
Second one says, 'No, it's Thursday!'
Third one says, 'So am I. Let's go get a beer..'
 ************
We now have reached 56% of our $400. goal to buy a much needed air-conditioning unit for a kennel house up at AHGRRS.  We've got $225. so we "only" need another $175.00 to reach our goal.  Could you send just $1.00 or maybe $5.00 if you can.  Every little bit helps and no donations is insignificant or too small.  Check out the top of our blog's right side bar to find out how you can help.  Thanks y'all.

We wish skip a speedy recovery! Love the golden video too! We are still working out the bumps and kinks with our newly adopted Monty - we wish you best of luck in finding lots of foster homes!

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
