OUR BLOG BUDDY MOGLEY

Radar, the blind Golden Retriever, here today.

Their are many blogs written by dogs and their owners. We follow many but several are very dear to our hearts because they are tireless workers for Rescue.  One of them is A Dogs Life, the real story http://mogley-adogslife.blogspot.com/
Below is a recent post by Mogley G. Retriever.  We're a bit late in getting out the word, but dad says "better late than never."  Mogley and his humans alone have helped foster close to 70 Goldens in order to give them a forever home and a new start on life.  TBH&K are asking all of our Golden Seniors friends to, as Mogley says, "Read our stories and then help by passing them along. We are seeking to give more people a reason to get involved, more volunteers to help save a few more lives."

We also ask that if you believe, as we do, that Rescue is so very important ,and since so many are not even aware of the various rescue programs, please post this to the groups that you visit. We Thank you,

Thanks to Sheila & Bob for passing this to our dad at work.

We ask a favor of you. <http://mogley-adogslife.blogspot.com/2010/10/we-ask-favor-of-you.html>

For the next week or so, I am going to collaborate with my humans on a series for the blog. They were asked to write a short piece on "Why we volunteer for Rescue", for the rescue newsletter. By the time the short piece was done, it was 6 pages and still growing. The rescue only had room to print a few of the stories on our fosters and their journey through life. The story may never be done because each new foster that comes through our home is another story, another life that can be helped to find a new life, a new beginning.

We need to ask a favor of you. We will be telling the stories of many of the dogs that we and others have rescued and telling how they were helped along their way. It is a long story and an important story, especially for those who are not involved in rescue daily and do not understand what these dogs go through and how they are helped on a journey to a new life. We are nearing 70 fosters that we have helped but our volunteers have helped thousands to date. Each one is a story, each one is a reason for joy, each one is a reason for tears. We want the world to know why these dogs become "orphans", and we want the world to know how they are helped to find new lives by the hundreds of rescue volunteers that help them along the way. Can you make it a point to help us find new readers? Read our stories and then help by passing them along. We are seeking to give more people a reason to get involved, more volunteers to help save a few more lives.

Thank you,

Mogley G. Retriever

Thank you so much for the links and for the mention on your site. We were so worried about you when we did not hear for a while. We were afraid that when Air Force beat Navy in football, you had decided to become hermits.

Current foster Nala says to say hello to Radar. Nala is deaf and her vision is fading. She and Radar have to tell the world what a great life they can have with the assets they still have to use. Nala does great following everyone around.

Thanks for helping spread the word about rescue.

Hi Everyone:

I know I hit you all hard last with the the need for sponsors, but we got in a very special dog today - who is going to need your help.

Cooper is only 1 1/2 to 2 years old, but his life has not been very good. Finally, his local Humane Society arranged to have him confiscated from his owner. Cooper had no food, no water, and no shelter. And, because of the miserable life he was leading, he has ended up with a severe case of demodectoc mange and horribly infected ears. And, is now also coming down with kennel cough.

Today, he is at our veterinarians office, where he will begin treatment. He is safe - - - - - but he has a long road back to being a normal, healthy dog.

His veterinary care will exceed $500 -

Donations in any amount will help. This is Cooper:

It's hard to imagine anyone leaving this poor, sick dog without the basic necessities of life, isn't it?

Thank you for your support. We can really use some help for this poor soul.

Donations can be mailed to:
Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue
P.O. Drawer D
Delray, WV 26714

or you can make an online donation using any of the donation buttons on our website marked Paypal. Paypal will let you use your checking or savings accounts - or your credit cards.

THANK YOU - for always being there.

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
