MANGO MINSTER 2011 ENTIES ; PATTI AND JUBAL

PLEASE DON"T FORGET TO VOTE IN THE ANIMAL RESCUE SITE'S SHELTER CHALLENGE (SEE BOTTOM OF THE POST).  WE'RE NOT DOING TOO GOOD IN VOTING LATELY.  PLEASE VOTE TODAY AND TOMORROW; EVERYDAY.  WITHOUT YOUR VOTE TODAY, WE WILL BE LOSING AS OF TOMORROW.

THE BUMPASS HOUNDS AND KITTIES WILL TRY TO COMPETE IN MANGO MINSTER 2011
ALEX
Hey Hounders, it's Alex (a.k.a Al E. Katt, Big Al, Alex P. Kitten) and I've been selected to make our nominations for MANGO MINSTER 2011 consideration.  As a subjective analyst I don't have any prejudice of the qualifications of these two Bumpass Hound entrants; both are well qualified in the categories to which they have selected for entry.  I submit for your consideration, Patti (a.k.a. Patti-Wackit) and Jubal (a.k.a. Big Jubes):
Patti and Jubal

Can someone of our blog readers please notify Mango of this entry; Ms. Khyra perhaps?  Stupid dumb "blogger" evidently won't let us leave a comment on his blogsite to let him know that we want to enter.

INSANE CRACKER DOG: PATTI
PATTI
Patti harassing Gracie
Devil Eyed Patti
My nominee for Insane Cracker Dog is Ms. Patti-Wackit, the youngest canine Bumpass Hound and our most recent canine addition to the pack.  Patti is a "rescue" dog via the Lenoir County (NC) SPCA and AHGRRS.  She is just a little over 1 year old and had a tough start in life having been hit by a car while wandering the streets an abandoned puppy.  Luckily some kind people took her to the local SPCA and they provide medical care which included surgery to repair a broken leg and to save her tail from amputation.  Patti has fully recovered, unfortunately for us kitties, and is as fast as a bullet.  She is definitely an Insane Cracker Dog and here's a short video of her and me which will prove to y'all that she is wacko:

GOOD OLD BOY: JUBAL
JUBAL
Jubal with Boru
Radar and Jubal
My nominee for Good Old Boy is the pup that has been a Bumpass Hound for this whole life of almost 12 years, Jubal.  Big Jubes is named after the Civil War Confederate States Army General, Jubal Early.  Jubal is a Canine Good Citizen with a truly laid back personality; a true southern gentleman and Virginia Good Old Boy.  He is definitely mom's favorite.  He is a prince and gets all sorts of special privileges and treatment.  He can stay inside when most of the other dogs have to go out.   Jubal has never harassed any of us kitties and even lets us cuddle next to him to stay warm.  When our blind from birth Golden Retriever puppy, Radar, was adopted into the pack it was Big Jubes who showed him the ropes and took him under his paw.  Jubal is a very kind and handsome good old boy and is definitely the best dog in our show and I hope he will be the best in your show too.

We know that the distinguished judges will give careful consideration to our nominees.  Thank ya, thank ya very much.  Alex has left the building.

=======================
PLEASE VOTE FOR AHGRRS

The above link will take you to the Animal Rescue Site where you will get to click to donate a free bowl of food to homeless animals. After you do that you will be presented with a "Thank You" page; at the top center of that page please click on the "VOTE TODAY" button. That will then take you directly to the voting page. The only information that you need to enter is to select "WV" as the State from the drop down menu and enter "Capon" for the City. Then click on "Search." The page will then do its' thing and will end up showing "Almost heaven Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. Capon Bridge, WV 26714." A "VOTE" button will also appear. Click on that "VOTE" button. After you vote you will see a confirmation page that requires you to identify an animal photo; this eliminates illegal machine voting. The answer is simply the type of animal that you see; dog, cat, turtle, fish, cow, etc. - not a specific breed. You can cast one vote everyday from as many different computers to which you have access. Voting will run until August 22, 2010.  You can have the Animal Rescue Site send you a daily reminder to "click" for free food; then you can vote in the All-Star Shelter Challenge. The more friends you can rally to vote the better our chances of winning. Every vote, every day, every computer - counts.
In the West Virginia state competition AHGRRS is currently leading by a very small margin.  That can change over night so don't want to get over confident.  We've only got 12.53% of the WV vote today and yesterday we had
12.53% ;  #2 has 12.21% and yesterday they had 11.76%.  There's only a 0.32% gap and they are closing on us fast. We're at #220 nationally; yesterday we were #208.  The WV #2 shelter is at #226 nationally (yesterday #229); now only 6 spots behind us.
PLEASE HELP,
VOTE
AND PLEASE TRY TO GET OTHERS TO VOTE TOO

You go Alex!

When my kitty Sooty and his brother was brought home from the shelter my brother had a dog and when they met Sooty's brother gave the dog a bloody node with his claws! They were friends from that day on.

Maybe you should whap him on the nose - that would stop him annoying you!!

Jubal gets extra points just for his name, plus more points for being such a Southern gentleman, plus more points for mentoring Radar with such kindness. Can't imagine a more perfect example of a Good Ol' Boy!

Jubal sounds like a very nice doggie, just like our Fenris, and we loves Jubal's name. We suggest the paw of doom for Patti, we are certainly glad that Mommy didn't bring home a Cracker dog. They sounds kinda scary to us. ~The Cats

STEP UP TO ADOPT A PET

If you can, please consider opening your home to a homeless animal, preferably a dog or cat or other domesticated animal; livestock does better on farms and wild animals do better in zoos and parks. Your local Humane Society or SPCA or Animal Shelter has a wide selection of could be, should be, pets looking for new homes. If you can't adopt, perhaps you can at least become a sponsor. We'll show you how to help out Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary (AHGRRS) on our blog page, but you can help out any organization of your choice, but please help; contribute or volunteer.

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR A SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS GOLDEN

CAN'T ADOPT; BECOME AN ANGEL.
So many Senior and Special Needs Goldens do not find "forever homes". Many of these dogs have above average medical needs and costs, are maintained on "special" diets, or have other extraordinary needs. Your donations can be targeted towards a particular Senior or Special needs Golden Retriever. As a sponsor, you will receive updates about your "special" Golden, and will be mentioned in our quarterly newsletter as the dog's sponsor. We also accept Paypal donations. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation is fully tax-deductible. Please just write the Golden's name in the memo line of your check or Paypal submission when sponsoring a Golden Retriever.
