Homer here. I hope that you're having a good day and cherishing every minute of it. I had a good day yesterday. Dad figured out that if he wants me to eat all of my breakfast and dinner that he shouldn't be trying to feed me twice as much as he normally did. Seems that when I'm presented with the proper amount of chow that I'm willing and able to eat it all (too bad for the other guys lurking around my bowl, GRRRRR....). I mean Thanksgiving dinner is GReat, but twice a day? Since I'm not as stuffed it seems to dad that I'm also receptive to my medicine tucked into a beefy treat pocket; yummmmm. And it also appears that if I get my medicine every 12 hours instead of every 8 hours that I'm more attentive and not as lethargic, although I may cough slightly more often; so now, evidently I can operate heavy machinery again. Anyway, all in all, I'm doing GReat. I greeted both mom and dad when they got home from their works with my tail wagging and shoveling hands for pats. Dad says that if my coughing get worse he'll adjust my meds but that for the time being, at least, I'm doing A-OK.
Thanks to everyone who's been voting for Almost Heaven in the Shelter Challenge. They're slightly in front in the West Virginia voting. Remember though, it's a marathon race, 10 weeks. I know that it's easy to forget to vote everyday, weekends included, on as many computers as possible. But please let me play my sympathy card and ask y'all to do it for me...."Win one for the Gipper" so to speak. The Animal Rescue Site will even send you a daily reminder to vote if you just sign up. I'd like to be able to think that my legacy will be Ms. Carol and Mr. Skip receiving at least a $1,000.00 grant from The Animal Rescue Site to help homeless pups like I was to be given a second chance at life. That's what Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary does; they help the helpless. Just 'click' on the Animal Rescue Site logo at the top of our blog's right side bar to donate a free bowl of food to homeless animals and then proceed to vote in the Shelter Challenge. Thanks.- Homer (TBH+K)
